A Memorable Kiswa Exhibition Brings the Community Together at Danehouse Community Centre
Alhamdulillah, Danehouse Community Centre in Burnley was honoured to host a truly inspiring Kiswa Exhibition, welcoming hundreds of visitors from across the community for a day filled with learning, reflection and togetherness.
The event was thoughtfully organised into two sessions, with the ladies’ session taking place from 11:00am until 2:00pm, followed by lunch, before the brothers’ session ran from 2:30pm until 6:00pm.
Throughout the day, visitors had the unique opportunity to experience the beauty and significance of the Kiswa, the sacred cloth that covers the Holy Ka’bah, while also learning more about the history, heritage and spiritual importance of Umrah and Hajj.
The exhibition featured engaging displays, informative presentations and interactive Q&A sessions, allowing attendees to ask questions and deepen their understanding of the sacred pilgrimage and Islamic history. A popular highlight of the day was the Islamic calligraphy workshops, where visitors explored the elegance and tradition of this timeless art form.
We were delighted to welcome Councillor Afrasiab Anwar and Councillor Maheen Kamran, who attended the exhibition to show their support for the local community. Their presence was greatly appreciated, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen our partnership with the local council on future community initiatives, InshaAllah.
