The KISWA event provides lots of learning in terms of the History of Islamic faith but also the Islamic art from the Middle East dating back to over 700 years. What is really important is that during KISWA art event, there are Islamic faith leaders present who provide lots of information about the faith and it’s history which includes art history. It is really important that the faith is promoted authentically and accurately to counter any false information present in questionable sources on the World Wide Web and Internet.
KISWA events welcome all segments of community from diverse faith groups, diverse nationalities, various age groups including young people, disabled communities and LGBTQ+ communities. It is really important for communities to who may not be from the Islamic faith to understand the faith from authentic events such as KISWA event as this counters false information about the faith which is present on a number of social media outlets. KISWA is a great event to promote the real true values of Islamic faith.
I have now attended 2 separate KISWA events, and both have been well attended and good opportunity to learn about the Islamic faith and enjoy art works which are hundreds of years old. I was so impressed after attending the event for the first time that I arranged for over 20 new police officers to attend the KISWA event as part of their initial police training.
It is really important that new police officers understand the diverse communities that they will be working with as part of their police role. The officers really enjoyed visiting the event and learning about the Islamic faith from and expert who spent over 2 hours to engage, explain, and answer many questions.
Based on above, I fully support the event to return to Scunthorpe in future and will be promoting it to local community members and professional agencies. Kind Regards.
