I had the pleasure of attending the Kiswa Arts & Culture Gallery exhibitions at Masjid Ghausia (Huddersfield) and at the Huddersfield Town Hall. The quality, depth, and cultural significance of the displays left a lasting impression. It was a remarkable opportunity for the public to engage with the artistic and spiritual heritage of the Islamic world, brought to life through sacred textiles and artefacts of great historical value.
Beyond their beauty and devotional significance, these exhibitions became a meeting ground for intercultural understanding and dialogue. They invited people from diverse backgrounds to discover the shared human values expressed through art, faith, and craftsmanship. The events strengthened community bonds, nurturing respect and appreciation across cultural and religious lines within Kirklees.
I warmly acknowledge the educational and unifying contribution of the Kiswa Arts & Culture Gallery. By linking heritage with the realities of contemporary community life, these exhibitions have encouraged reflection, learning, and pride in our shared cultural inheritance. We fully support their ongoing work to bring such enriching experiences to wider audiences across the region and beyond.
