Thousands Attend Cambridge Children’s Kiswa Exhibition at The Grove Primary School
Friday 13th June 2025
Thousands of visitors attended the Children’s Kiswa Exhibition at The Grove Primary School in Cambridge, bringing the history and heritage of the Holy Kaaba and Madinah to life for children, families and the wider community.
The day began at 10:00am with educational sessions for pupils from all year groups at The Grove Primary School. Throughout the morning, children explored authentic artefacts connected to the Holy Kaaba and learned about the significance of Makkah and Madinah through engaging presentations and displays.
The exhibition then opened to the public from 11:00am until 5:00pm and welcomed visitors from across Cambridge and beyond. A special highlight was the visit of the Mayor, who attended after the local carnival, alongside several local councillors.
This successful event was made possible through the support of many organisations and individuals. Special thanks to Cambridge Quran Classes (TQC), Cambridge Muslim Secondary School, Sr Safia and her students, Abu Bakr Islamic School, Sr Iman, Cambridge Home Education, and Sr Mirina.
We also extend our sincere gratitude to Sr Allison and her daughters Aisha, Latifa and Enaya, and Sr Sara and her children Zainab, Fatima and Musa for their outstanding Ramadan fundraising efforts, together with all those who organised and participated in the sponsored walk and fundraising iftar.
A heartfelt thank you to Sr Hamida, Sr Asmaa, Sr Saima and Sr Hameeda, as well as Cambridge Central Mosque, Abu Bakr Masjid, Roy the caretaker at The Grove School, Zidan’s for sponsoring lunch, and all our dedicated volunteers.
The exhibition was a wonderful celebration of faith, heritage and community, inspiring children and adults alike through the rich history of the Holy Kaaba and the sacred cities of Makkah and Madinah.
May Allah reward everyone who contributed to making this memorable day such a success Ameen
