A Remarkable Day for Swansea – Kiswa Exhibition at Swansea Central Mosque
Sunday 30th November 2025 11am to 5pm Swansea witnessed a landmark moment for Islamic heritage, learning and unity. Swansea Central Mosque opened its doors to a spectacle of sacred history as Kiswa Arts and Culture Gallery presented a breathtaking exhibition of Kiswa artifacts from the Holy Kaaba, Masjid al-Nabawi, and the blessed Rawdah Sharifah section. Thousands poured in throughout the day — families, students, elders, scholars, community leaders — all joining together under one roof to witness what many described as a once-in-a-lifetime experience
The exhibition radiated spirituality, emotion and reverence. Visitors stood awestruck before the fabrics and panels that once adorned the holiest places in Makkah and Madinah. Hearts softened, tears flowed, and the atmosphere was filled with remembrance, salawat, and heartfelt dua. Children asked questions with curiosity, elders sat in reflection, and the community connected in a way that felt deeply rooted in love for the Haramain.
This cherished gathering was made possible by remarkable teamwork and sincere dedication.

Kiswa Arts and Culture Gallery undertook the journey to bring the priceless artifacts down to Swansea, enabling the community to experience the sacred textile heritage up close — an honour that will be remembered for years.
Special gratitude goes to the ISOC team, whose youth demonstrated unwavering heart and commitment. Their labour, organisation, hospitality and constant support behind the scenes carried the event from planning to completion. They provided nourishment for both guests and volunteers, ensuring comfort, smiles and a spirit of service throughout the day. A heartfelt mention to Sister Azra and Sister Shakila Janan, Sister Aala whose tireless effort, networking and countless exchanges of calls and messages were instrumental in bringing this vision to life, may Allah reward them abundantly.
Our appreciation also extends to One Ummah, the event sponsor in recognition of the week of change, and to the Muslim Council of Wales, whose outreach and networking broadened the audience and opened doors to diverse circles across the community.
We were honoured by the attendance of Swansea Councillor Lynda James and other dignitaries who graced the occasion, showing support for cultural preservation, community unity and interfaith understanding.
The day concluded with reflections, dua, hopeful hearts and a renewed connection to the legacy of the Kaaba and Masjid al-Nabawi. It was an event that Swansea will remember, not only for its visual splendour, but for the spirit of togetherness it inspired.
