Best Light Community Hub – Nelson

Over 5,000 Attend Historic Kiswat Al Kaaba Exhibition in Nelson

Best Light Community Hub hosts one of the most powerful Islamic cultural experiences in the UK

Nelson, Lancashire – 5th July 2025:

In a momentous gathering that captured hearts and minds, the Kiswat Al Kaaba Exhibition welcomed over 5,000 attendees at the Best Light Community Hub, setting a new benchmark for Islamic cultural showcases in the region.

The event featured an awe-inspiring collection of sacred artefacts from the Holy Kaaba in Makkah and the Blessed City of Madinah, creating a spiritual and educational experience unlike any other.

The day commenced with a soul-stirring Qiraat, immersing the audience in the words of the Qur’an. Midway through the exhibition, a deeply emotional Khatm al-Qur’an Du’a took place, uniting all present in heartfelt prayer. Throughout the day, the air was filled with zikr, fikr, and personal intentions for Umrah and Hajj, as many were visibly moved by the sacred items on display.

Tailored guided walkthroughs were provided from start to finish, beginning with groups of students and teachers, followed by thousands from the general public — families, scholars, elders, and youth. Visitors were given the rare chance to witness the Kiswah (cloth of the Kaaba), sections of the Hizam belt, Kaaba door cover, and pieces from Madinah’s Rawdah and Ottoman-era Kiswahs. Many took photos to preserve the special moment, while others simply stood in silent awe — some brought to tears.

The event was a model of community harmony and respect, with no disruptions reported. Local masajid were informed ahead of the event, and the wider Muslim community turned out in full support. From logistics to hospitality, everything ran smoothly — a testament to the dedicated team behind the scenes.

A huge thank you is extended to Brother Israr and his team, whose dedication and passion made the event possible. Local councillors Faraz Ahmed and Ruby Handwell were both in attendance and expressed admiration at the event’s impact, with strong interest in hosting another in the near future.

The local media quietly played a supporting role, helping spread the exhibition’s message of unity, spirituality, and cultural preservation throughout Lancashire and beyond.

This event was far more than a display — it was a spiritual journey, a moment of collective reflection, and a celebration of our sacred heritage.
