Kiswa Exhibition at Preston Muslim Girls High School – September 2025

On Friday 26th and Saturday 27th September 2025, Kiswat al-Kaaba held a historic two-day exhibition at Preston Muslim Girls High School, showcasing priceless Kiswa artifacts from the Holy Kaaba and the blessed Rawdah in Madinah Sharifah, alongside other sacred Islamic treasures.

The exhibition began on Friday, dedicated to the pupils of the school. Year groups from Year 7 through to Year 11 were given an hour each to experience the artifacts, learn their history, and witness the craftsmanship and calligraphy that adorn the Kiswah. This gave the students an invaluable opportunity to connect with the education, art, culture, heritage, and history of the Islamic world in a meaningful and memorable way.

On Saturday, the exhibition opened to the local community of Preston, drawing thousands of visitors throughout the day. The programme was structured with a men’s slot in the morning and a women’s slot in the afternoon, with scholars, imams, and dignitaries welcomed in between. A detailed narrative was delivered for each and every artifact, allowing attendees to learn about their origins, spiritual significance, and the history behind them. Visitors were able to view the artifacts up close, and for many, the opportunity to hear the narrative and even touch some of these sacred pieces was described as an unforgettable blessing.

The atmosphere over both days was one of learning, reflection, and unity, as people of all ages came together to celebrate the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of the Kiswah.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Rehan Patel and the governors of Preston Muslim Girls High School, as well as Sabiha Chauhan, the finance manager. Our gratitude also goes to Brother Imtiaz and Brother Imtiaz, whose tireless efforts in security, infrastructure, labour, and overnight arrangements were invaluable to the smooth running of the event. Finally, a heartfelt thank you to all staff, volunteers, and crowd-control teams who gave their time and sacrifice to make this exhibition a true success
